Earl Blumenauer introduces bill to let presidents decide if successors are fit for office

A Democratic lawmaker introduced a bill that would let the vice president and former presidents collaborate to decide if a president is fit for office.

Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-OR) introduced the bill Monday during the House of Representatives’ two-week recess, The Hill reports.

The bill would target the 25th Amendment, which mandates that the vice president becomes the president if the latter dies or resigns. It also lets the vice president take over if he or she and a majority of Cabinet officers agree to it.

That’s not going to go anywhere. The flaws in this bill are amazing.
