Robert Louis Stevenson once told us, “Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds that you plant.” It sounds like good advice … and perhaps also, a variation of “You reap what you sow.”
We Americans do not appear to be very efficient at sowing seeds—and I say this because over the past fifty or so years, we are reaping nothing by foolishness; some of this folly very dangerous to the interests of our citizens.
Case in point. We seem to have plenty of time engaging in heated discussions about white supremacists and neo-Nazi anti-fascists (a contradiction in terms if ever I heard one), but no time at all to consider US federal funding earmarked for charity fronted terrorist groups.
